Electromobility with energy storage solutions in Aachen is made possible by the INTILION scalebloc. In cooperation with RWTH Aachen University and the Aachen grid operator Regionetz GmbH, an INTILION I scalebloc was put into operation at the Regionetz headquarters. By expanding the grid connection power to be provided, the battery storage system supports the energy for ten 11kW charging columns to ensure full charging capacity. This allows Regionetz to avoid peak loads, reduce grid charges, and implement electromobility with energy storage solutions in Aachen.
With little project planning and effort, the construction of the outdoor storage facility was completed within one day. In general, the project serves to expand and develop the charging infrastructure. In this way, it can contribute to securing system stability and system flexibilization in Aachen.
“It was impressive how quick and straightforward it was to set up the scalebloc.”
